St Paul's Lutheran Church

About this church

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waukegan gathers for Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m., with a simultaneous YouTube livestream and recordings available afterward. The congregation is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and describes itself as a diverse faith community that welcomes people across race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, economic circumstances, and life experience. Its worship and mission are paired with an explicit commitment to justice, mercy, peace, and listening to Indigenous voices, including an acknowledgment of the Native peoples whose ancestral homelands include the church’s site.

Life at St. Paul’s extends into practical service and less conventional forms of fellowship. A Wednesday-morning lunch crew packs meals for Roberti Community House, while Clothes to You distributes free clothing and accepts donations during office hours and on Sunday mornings. A men’s group meets over breakfast and books on Thursdays, and a monthly Saturday gathering walks through a local forest preserve for Scripture, reflection, and Holy Communion. These schedules are separate from the regular Sunday service and should be confirmed on the calendar. The church is located at 824 North Lewis Avenue, with weekday office hours generally running from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
