First Christian Church of Wood River

About this church

First Christian Church of Wood River offers Sunday worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m., with Sunday School between the services from 9:45 to 10:45. Care for children from birth through fifth grade is available during the education hour and the 11:00 service. The schedule lets families choose an early service followed by classes or combine Sunday School with the later gathering.

The church's mission is to develop growing, Christlike disciples who influence the community. It describes its purpose through evangelism, building up Christians, serving people in need, and acting as a moral voice in local life. Therefore Student Ministries serves junior- and senior-high youth Sundays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. from September through May, rotating among games, service, reflective worship, and relationship-focused learning. Adult ministries help Sunday services run smoothly and create further spaces for study and fellowship. A publicly accessible Blessing Box and supported local and national missions put community care within easy reach. Newcomers can select a service time based on whether they want to add the Sunday School hour.
