American Reformed Church

About this church

American Reformed Church gathers for worship Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in DeMotte. The service lasts about an hour and combines congregational singing with a Bible-based message connected to daily life. Clothing ranges from suits and ties to jeans and T-shirts, and coffee, doughnuts, and other refreshments are served in the Fellowship Hall before and after worship. Nursery care is available for babies and young children. From September through May, children age three through fifth grade may join Bible Adventures after being dismissed from the main service for age-appropriate, active learning.

Middle-school and high-school ministries use the name Movement, helping students understand identity, purpose, and Christian decision-making through worship, games, lessons, discussion, service, retreats, and trips. Adults connect through Life Groups that meet at homes or at the church on weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedules for study, prayer, support, and conversation. The congregation's vision is “Connecting Our Community to Christ and His Church,” while its mission is to glorify God by bearing fruit. For first-time guests, the single service, flexible clothing, nursery, refreshments, and clearly staged children's dismissal create a low-friction Sunday morning.
