About this church
St. Thomas More Catholic Church celebrates Mass Saturday at 5:30 p.m., Sunday at 10:45 a.m., and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Mooresville. Parishioners who cannot attend may watch a livestream or recording, and extraordinary ministers can bring Holy Communion to people who are homebound. Faith Formation for kindergarten through grade seven meets Sunday morning during the school year, with confirmation preparation for older students. The curriculum covers creed, sacraments, Christian morality, and prayer rather than functioning only as childcare before Mass.
Youth in grades seven through twelve can join CREW for monthly service projects and social activities in addition to Sunday formation. Parish life also includes Bible studies, Catholic Youth Organization athletics, a family group, Vacation Bible School, and seasonal festivals. The twice-yearly garage sale directs proceeds to Churches in Mission, St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities, and ministries serving people experiencing homelessness. For Catholic families in Morgan County, St. Thomas More combines a concise weekend Mass schedule with weekday worship, online access, home Communion, structured formation from kindergarten through confirmation, and service opportunities that connect parish activities with several regional charities.
