First Baptist Church of New Haven

About this church

First Baptist Church of New Haven meets at 1716 Werling Road. Sunday Bible study begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship at 10:30. The service combines gospel hymns and contemporary worship songs with expository preaching organized around the meaning of the biblical text. Infants and children have care and teaching during worship, including a staffed nursery for babies and toddlers. Guest parking spaces are reserved near the front entrance, and greeters can help newcomers find the appropriate room.

The congregation describes itself as one large family that loves Jesus, with a mission to honor Christ, love one another, and be a lighthouse in the New Haven community. Sunday worship is framed as a time to learn, receive encouragement, and be challenged by God's Word; beyond the service, small-group Bible studies provide space for fellowship, learning, and new relationships. Recorded messages let visitors sample the preaching before coming. The practical Sunday sequence is clear for families: arrive for age-spanning Bible study at 9:30, continue into the blended 10:30 service, and use the nursery or children's teaching as needed. Parking, music style, preaching approach, and child care are all explained in advance rather than left to guesswork.
