Ossian United Methodist Church

About this church

Ossian United Methodist Church holds in-person worship Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary at 201 West Mill Street. The homepage also posts a fresh YouTube link for each week and keeps earlier services in an online archive, making it easy to confirm that the published hour is active and to preview worship before arriving. The congregation’s welcome emphasizes hope, inspiration, friendship, and the belief that a newcomer is already known by Christ.

Methodist ministry in the area reaches back to St. Mary’s Mission in 1848. Ossian’s first church was built in 1853; sections of the current sanctuary followed in 1877 and 1898, with later fellowship, kitchen, classroom, organ, parking, and family-center projects adapting the property over time. In 1985, the town’s First and Faith United Methodist churches merged. That layered history explains why the building contains parts from several periods rather than one construction date. Current calendar, staff, and contact pages provide practical follow-up, while the dated livestream links distinguish ongoing ministry from a dormant historic site. For a first visit, Ossian offers one simple Sunday time, direct online access, a downtown address, and a local Methodist story spanning mission circuits, two congregations, and more than 175 years.
