Main Street United Methodist

About this church

Main Street United Methodist Church in Peru worships Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in person and on Facebook Live, followed by Sunday School at 10:30. The service blends traditional and contemporary elements, with Chancel Choir and handbells contributing to the music. Both ensembles welcome people without requiring professional experience. Recent sermons are available online, and the church calendar records seasonal changes beyond the recurring morning schedule.

The congregation describes its life around growing in God's love, serving the community, and walking together in faith. Its preschool has served Miami County families with academic, social, and Christian preparation for kindergarten. Young people lead the full service twice yearly, normally in April and December, handling the sermon, liturgy, prayers, Scripture, children's focus, and music. That Youth Sunday practice gives students visible responsibility rather than treating them only as program participants. For a first visit, the morning is easy to navigate: worship first, then a ninety-minute transition into formation. Online worship offers a useful preview of the blended style before attending downtown.
