Christ Church

About this church

Christ Church in Plainfield gathers in person and on Facebook Live Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Its children's program covers ages six weeks through fifth grade. Kindergarten through fifth-grade children begin with their families in the main auditorium for worship, then follow a trained volunteer to an age-specific room for the remainder of the service; younger children use their designated rooms. First-time households may preregister children, and a VIP host can guide them to check-in. Adults can also submit a visit plan to receive answers, a walkthrough video, and help preparing for arrival.

The congregation's mission is to help people love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus. Four action-oriented values shape that purpose: loving as Christ loved, discipling followers, developing leaders, and doing Christ's works. The church describes itself as deliberately welcoming to people who do not ordinarily attend church and presents Sunday as “passionately real,” with casual dress accepted. Connection opportunities include children's, men's, women's, and youth ministries; the women's gathering is published for the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Since Sunday has one service time, families do not need to compare different children's schedules. Preregistration remains useful, and elementary children should expect to worship with adults before dismissal rather than report directly to a classroom.
