Peace United Church of Christ

About this church

Peace United Church of Christ is a Monticello congregation founded in 1875 and shaped by a mission to live by faith, be known by love, and bring hope and fellowship to the community. Its site presents worship as both traditional and evolving, with children, preteens, teens, global mission, and community connection included in church life. The long local history is a stronger guide to identity than the site’s many dated announcements.

The worship page lists Sunday worship and Children’s Church at 10:00 a.m. It also retains pandemic-era directions about masks, distancing, no congregational singing, and Facebook participation, while the events page still features 2020 seasonal activities. Those details are clearly stale and should not be treated as current visitor rules. The recurring 10:00 hour is published, but anyone planning a first visit should confirm it directly with the church and ask whether Children’s Church currently meets. Families can use the youth and worship pages to understand the congregation’s intentions for younger people without assuming archived lesson links represent today’s program. This is a case where the official website verifies identity and a stated schedule yet also signals that current operational details require a phone or social-media check.
