Central United Methodist Church

About this church

Central United Methodist Church is an Oskaloosa congregation that describes itself as a Spirit-filled community welcoming people to grow in faith, share God’s grace, and serve with Christ’s love. Its ministry priorities join worship, compassionate outreach, supportive relationships, prayer, children’s and youth formation, Confirmation, and seasonal Vacation Bible School. Music blends the church’s traditions with contemporary elements; the sanctuary choir leads worship monthly during most of the school year and welcomes students and adults with varied musical backgrounds.

Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m., with online viewing available through the church site. Sunday School for children and youth follows from 10:30 to 11:30. The sanctuary choir normally sings on the third Sunday from September through June and rehearses Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Special worship is held around holidays and other points in the church year, so visitors should consult current announcements when attending outside an ordinary Sunday. Families should likewise confirm summer dates for Vacation Bible School and other seasonal programs rather than treating them as weekly offerings.
