First Baptist Church

About this church

First Baptist Church of Spencer gathers for Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. at 1200 North Grand Avenue. An adult Bible study is published for 9:15, giving adults an earlier learning option before the main service. The church’s welcome centers on becoming a wholehearted follower of Jesus and experiencing the abundant life described in the gospel, while its connection ministry stresses relationships with friends, family, the community, and God.

Several ministries clarify what ongoing participation can look like. D-Life Groups meet in homes or community settings for a multigenerational pattern of Bible reading, accountability, and reproducible discipleship. The junior- and senior-high youth group aims to teach who God is, help teenagers develop a personal relationship with Jesus, and prepare them to live as disciples. The published Sunday schedule also lists AWANA at 4:00 p.m. and youth group at 6:00, creating distinct evening options for children and teens. Current events include practical local service such as Meals on Wheels and back-to-school activity. A family considering First Baptist can therefore see a full Sunday arc before arriving: adult study, morning worship, a late-afternoon children’s program, and an evening youth gathering, with smaller discipleship groups extending into the week.
