South Rock Christian Church

About this church

South Rock Christian Church in Derby is an independent congregation on South Rock Road that holds three weekend services: Saturday at 5 p.m., which is in person only, and Sunday at 9 and 10:30 a.m., which are also streamed online at the same times. The church describes itself as a place where it is okay not to be okay and encourages guests to come as they are, noting that many people in the congregation arrived from Catholic or other church backgrounds. Service times can shift, so confirm them on the website before a first visit.

SR Kids serves birth through fifth grade during both Sunday services with Bible teaching, worship, games and a craft. Families receive matching ID tags at check-in for secure pickup, a pre-visit form speeds registration, and a family room with a private nursing area lets parents of little ones watch the sermon together. Fourth and fifth graders can join IGNITE on Wednesdays. Middle schoolers meet Wednesday evenings and high schoolers Sunday evenings for Impact, the In Tune class meets Sunday at 9 a.m., and student small groups gather weekly in homes or at the church. Adults can join SR Groups, men's and women's ministries and a college ministry, and the church also offers Stephen Ministry, GriefShare, DivorceCare and a counseling center.
