Minneapolis United Methodist Church

About this church

Minneapolis United Methodist Church in Kansas holds traditional Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. The livestream begins at 9:40, allowing remote participants to join after the opening portion. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month, and the church explicitly welcomes everyone to the table. Fifth Sundays follow a different pattern: the congregation combines with the United Church of Bennington for worship at 10:30 a.m., followed by a potluck, with the livestream beginning at 10:40. That exception is important for anyone planning a visit late in a five-Sunday month.

The congregation has served Minneapolis since 1865 and describes itself as a close-knit church family grounded in Methodist values. Its stated rhythm is to connect through Christian friendship, grow in faith, and spread the love of Jesus in the community and wider world. Ministries and United Women in Faith offer avenues beyond the main service, while online sermons help visitors understand the teaching style. This church may appeal to someone seeking an established small-town United Methodist community, a traditional service, open Communion, and regular cooperation with a neighboring congregation. The church is at 418 North Rock Street; check the event calendar for fifth-Sunday locations and schedule changes.
