Harvest Baptist Church

About this church

Harvest Baptist Church gathers at 39 Feltner Lane in Hazard for Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and worship at 11:00. Wednesday begins with dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by services at 7:00. The first-visit page describes a relational welcome built around smiles, handshakes, and conversation. Sunday clothing is commonly casual or business casual, but the church explicitly welcomes people who arrive more or less formally and focuses on who a person can become in Christ rather than how they look at the door.

The congregation describes itself as one family pursuing Jesus together and as common people serving common people. It deliberately resists defining itself by age, race, nationality, or a particular social culture, instead emphasizing biblical truth and the gospel without prejudice. Discipleship groups, community groups, Vacation Bible School, sermons, and a current calendar provide ways to move beyond the main service. Church leadership also has longstanding involvement with Scripture Memory Mountain Mission and Camp Nathanael, connecting the Lotts Creek congregation with youth and mission work in the region and abroad. The combined Wednesday dinner and service can be particularly useful for households seeking fellowship and teaching in one evening.
