New Union Christian Church meets at 440 Old Frankfort Pike outside Versailles. Hybrid Bible Study–Sunday School runs from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. during the church year, fellowship and discussion begin at 10:40, and worship starts at 11:00 in the sanctuary and on Zoom. The traditional hour-long service uses hymnals, prayer, Scripture, a thoughtful message, and the Lord's Supper every Sunday. With seating for about sixty and no paved parking lot, this is intentionally a small rural congregation rather than a large-campus church.

Founded in 1834 amid the Stone-Campbell movement, New Union rebuilt on the original footprint in the early 1960s, reusing old brick and pews. The Communion table occupies the visual center of the simple sanctuary. The congregation became Open and Affirming in the early 2000s and supports the Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance, welcoming people into worship and community across identity and background. Its pastors bring experience in science, public education, disability theology, reconciliation, music, and online ministry, shaping what the church calls a reasoned and experientially grounded Christianity. New Union openly tells visitors what is absent—large choirs, heavy programming, and many committees—and what it values instead: serenity, intellectual engagement, weekly Communion, hospitality, and caring fellowship.
