First Baptist Church

About this church

First Baptist Church of Franklin worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. at 1500 Iberia Street. A pastor-led discipleship class begins at 8:45, and Wednesday prayer and Bible study meet at 5:00 p.m. The congregation has served Franklin and St. Mary Parish since 1938, with a stated hope that people will come to know Jesus and grow in Christian faith. Songs, prayer, and preaching are intentionally grounded in the Bible.

Parking is available on both sides of the church, with spaces nearest the doors reserved for visitors, people with mobility limitations, and adults carrying young children. Greeters can point families toward the staffed nursery and Sunday School rooms as well as the sanctuary, restrooms, and fellowship areas. Dress is flexible, and coffee after worship creates time to meet the pastor and congregation. The church also collects nonperishable food for people in Franklin and nearby communities, accepting donations during weekday office hours. A first-time guest can therefore anticipate an earlier discipleship option, one main service, accessible parking priorities, staffed nursery care, and a defined post-service welcome rather than navigating the building alone.
