Calvary Baptist Church

About this church

Calvary Baptist Church holds a traditional service Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Bible study for all ages from 9:45 to 10:45, and contemporary worship from 11 a.m. to noon. The church is just off Main Street in downtown Bel Air. Visitors may dress as they wish; business-casual clothing is more common at the traditional hour, but it is not required. Worship incorporates singing, instruments, and other creative musical elements. Families can find programming for babies through fifth grade, with Sunday School check-in help available from greeters and a family room for adults who need to step out with a child while following the service.

Preschool JAM combines play, worship, and a short interactive Bible lesson. During the school year, AWANA adds games, music, Scripture memory, theme nights, awards, and special events. Middle- and high-school students meet during the 9:45 Bible-study hour, with a separate evening youth gathering for fellowship, games, and discussion of current issues. Adult small groups meet at varied times and locations around Harford County in fall, winter, and spring, then pause for summer and major holidays. Mission work includes community projects, Vacation Bible School, facility assistance, disaster relief, refugee care, anti-trafficking work, adoption support, and Southern Baptist international mission giving.
