Patuxent Presbyterian Church

About this church

Patuxent Presbyterian Church normally offers contemporary worship at 9:00 a.m. and a traditional service at 10:45 at 23421 Kingston Creek Road in California, Maryland. During summer, the congregation combines into one 10:00 a.m. gathering. The same pastor delivers the sermon at both regular services, while dress ranges naturally from formal to casual. Because the seasonal schedule changes, visitors should confirm whether the summer or two-service pattern is active.

The church’s site provides downloadable recent services and sermons, allowing newcomers to compare teaching and music before attending. Sunday School serves children and adults, and outreach includes Operation Christmas Child and support for local and global missionaries. Its visitor page acknowledges that entering a new church can feel uncertain and explains the two worship styles without presenting one as more important. That makes the choice practical: the 9:00 service uses contemporary music, the 10:45 service follows a traditional form, and the summer 10:00 gathering brings the congregation together. Families and adults interested in classes should review the live schedule, since Sunday School timing can also change with the seasonal worship arrangement.
