St. Joseph's Catholic Church

About this church

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg celebrates a Saturday vigil Mass at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday Masses at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. Daily Mass is offered Monday through Saturday at 8:15. Confession is available Saturdays from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., Sundays from 9:15 to 10:15, Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., and by appointment. Daily Eucharistic Adoration precedes morning Mass, with longer Thursday and first-Friday hours.

Parish life combines sacramental worship with faith formation, service, and care. Youth in high school gather Tuesday evenings, while Saturday programs at St. Anthony Shrine serve teenagers and children age six and older through Bible study and Oratory activities. Stephen Ministers provide trained, one-to-one Christian care for people facing difficult seasons, and homebound parishioners can request Holy Communion. Ushers, lectors, musicians, and extraordinary ministers provide ways to serve during Mass, with community events and outreach offering additional roles. Visitors have several weekend options and can use the detailed confession schedule to pair Reconciliation with Sunday or vigil Mass.
