Potomac United Methodist Church

About this church

Potomac United Methodist Church welcomes worshipers at 10 a.m. Sunday, both on site and live on YouTube. Sunday School and nursery care are offered at the same hour, with children's ministry designed so each child is known, valued, and guided in faith. The congregation presents itself as an active and caring spiritual home for people seeking deeper faith and meaningful community. Visitors can sample worship online before coming to the South Glen Road campus.

Potomac UMC explicitly welcomes full participation across race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, and LGBTQ identity. Opportunities beyond worship include study, service, children's ministry, music, and community use of the parish center. The music program draws from classical, traditional, and contemporary anthems and service music, with additional vocal and instrumental offerings on holidays; the Chancel Choir rehearses Thursday evening. The accessible Parish Center is opened to groups that respect diversity and serve the wider community, treating building hospitality as part of ministry. A first-time family can attend worship while children use Sunday School or nursery, then ask about music or service opportunities. Because the site does not publish detailed age bands on its main page, parents should contact the church for current classroom placement.
