Old North Church is both an active Episcopal congregation and Boston’s oldest church building, at 193 Salem Street on the Freedom Trail. Its current summer Sunday service is at 10:00 a.m. through September 6, returning to 11:00 on September 13; worship is also livestreamed. Most Sundays feature Holy Eucharist from the Book of Common Prayer, with professional choral anthems, organ music, congregational hymns, Scripture, and sermon. Clothing may be casual or formal, and worship is free without doctrinal requirements for attending.

The distinction between worship and tourism matters here. Sunday services are congregational gatherings and carry no admission charge, while the historic site opens for ticketed visits at 11:30 on Sundays. That site interprets more than 300 years of history, including the two lanterns displayed on April 18, 1775, its crypt, the bell chamber where Paul Revere once rang, and Black and Indigenous stories connected to the church. Reservations for worship are welcomed but not required. Discounted Sunday parking is available at North End Garage, two blocks away, with validation from an usher and a reduced rate until 1:00 p.m. Visitors can therefore attend Eucharist first and explore the historic exhibits afterward without confusing a tour ticket for church admission.
