Second Congregational Church

About this church

Second Congregational Church worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. at 43 Highland Avenue in Cohasset, with a YouTube livestream for people joining online. The congregation has served Cohasset since 1824 and describes itself as a welcoming beacon of faith, love, and service. Its worship statement calls the church open to participation, membership, leadership, and employment without exclusion based on age, ancestry, class, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation.

The church connects worship with justice, peace, knowledge, and human fellowship. Community life includes Sunday School, confirmation, music, small groups, seasonal celebrations, and service beyond the building. Youth partner with the Cohasset Appalachian Service Project for home-repair work, while fellowship projects include food and pie collections for neighbors, a community Christmas choir, and other local support. That combination gives the historic Congregational church a clear contemporary identity: one weekly hybrid service, an explicitly affirming welcome, and hands-on relationships across generations. Visitors can attend in person or preview worship online, then use the calendar to find formation, outreach, and fellowship opportunities that fit their interests.
