About this church
First Presbyterian Church of Quincy worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m., usually concluding around 11:40 before coffee and fellowship downstairs. Worship is traditional, with organ, piano, choir, hymns, robes, Scripture-rooted practical sermons, and shared prayer, yet the congregation describes the atmosphere as warm and sometimes casual. Full services are posted on YouTube. The church has ample parking and is a ten- to fifteen-minute walk from the Quincy Adams station on the MBTA Red Line.
Children begin in the sanctuary and may leave for Sunday School after prayer, singing, and Scripture; on fifth Sundays they remain for the full service. Nursery care is available throughout worship. Communion is celebrated on first Sundays and served to seated worshipers, with baptized Christians invited to participate. The congregation explicitly affirms LGBTQ+ people and welcomes full participation in leadership, worship, sacraments, and ministry across race, nationality, ability, immigration status, and economic background. Other connections include Friday guided prayer on Zoom at 8:00 a.m., Thursday choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m., and a monthly Just Older Youth group for seniors. The church is at 270 Franklin Street.
