About this church
Stoneham Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church gathers on Saturday, with its homepage listing Sabbath School in person and by Zoom at 9:20 a.m. and worship in person and on YouTube at 10:55. A separate church overview gives slightly different starts—9:30 and 10:45—so first-time visitors should verify the current schedule. The overview says worship finishes around noon and combines Scripture, traditional hymns, contemporary praise, a children's story, prayer, special music, video, preaching, and periodic participation by Greater Boston Academy students. Sabbath School offers Bible-centered classes for adults and age-specific groups from birth through high school in what the church calls a comfortable, multi-ethnic setting.
The congregation's Stoneham history extends more than a century, beginning in 1903 alongside the former New England Sanitarium; congregations associated with Woodland Road and Maple Street reunited in 2003. Greater Boston Academy provides accredited Christian education from preschool through eighth grade. Other ministries include Pathfinders, Adventurers, prayer, women's ministry, Bible study, Vespers on the second and fourth Fridays, and fellowship meals on first and third Sabbaths. At a separate Gerry Street location, Stoneham Adventist Community Services distributes food by appointment Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from noon to 1:15. Before attending, families may want to ask where to park, how to use a step-free entrance, what people wear, whether Communion is offered, how children are registered and staff vetted, and what hearing or sensory accommodations exist.
