About this church
First Baptist Church of Garden City is an independent fundamental Baptist congregation on Marquette Street in Garden City. Sunday begins with Sunday School at 10 a.m., followed by a morning worship service at 11 a.m. and an evening service at 6 p.m., and a prayer meeting is held Wednesday at 7 p.m. Worship is traditional: the congregation sings hymns and uses the King James Version of the Bible for reading and preaching. A livestream player on the church's website lets people watch from home.
Sunday School has classes for every age, including a supervised nursery, kindergarten, elementary grades, and teens, plus separate men's and women's adult classes and a class for seniors. The children's ministry serves kids from age 3 through sixth grade. It holds junior church during the 11 a.m. service and meets again Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Outside the church, volunteer preachers lead a weekly Monday service at a correctional facility in Hamtramck. The church also supports missionaries through its Faith Promise program, in which members pledge gifts to missions beyond their regular giving. Schedules can change, so confirm times on the website or by calling 734-421-7888 before a first visit.
