Mancelona United Methodist Church

About this church

Mancelona United Methodist Church is a village congregation that treats church as an active way of serving, not only a Sunday destination. Worship, prayer, fellowship, local outreach, and global Methodist mission support are joined by a long-running community meal. The church also helped create a public stone labyrinth in Cran Park, offering residents and visitors a quiet place for reflection from dawn to dark.

Sunday worship begins at 11:00 a.m. with the ringing of the bell tower and normally ends around noon. A free community meal is served every Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall and has welcomed local residents since 2012; the ministry’s page does not publish a current serving hour, so guests should contact the church before arriving. The meal is canceled when Mancelona Public Schools close for bad weather. Mission giving has included local food and baby pantries as well as broader organizations such as Red Bird Mission and Africa University, but some organization lists are dated and should be read as examples rather than a current funding roster. Visitors wanting the most reliable first experience can use the clearly published Sunday hour and review the church blog for holiday or weather changes.
