First Baptist Church

About this church

First Baptist Church of Portland is a Baptist congregation in Portland, Michigan, offering Sunday worship, age-based Christian education, youth and children’s programs, and midweek prayer. Sunday School has classes for all ages, while Junior Church gives children a worship setting during the latter part of the morning service. The 406 Youth Group serves students on Sunday afternoon, and Awana provides structured children’s discipleship during the school year. The church’s connection page is especially useful because it distinguishes year-round worship from programs tied to the school calendar.

Sunday School begins at 10:00 a.m., morning worship at 11:00, and the evening service at 6:00 p.m. Junior Church runs from approximately 11:15 until noon. The 406 Youth Group meets Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00. On Wednesday, Awana meets from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. when school is in session, while prayer meeting runs from 7:00 to 8:00. Special meals and seasonal gatherings sometimes replace the ordinary evening pattern, so visitors should review the event page for the date they plan to attend.
