Christus Victor Lutheran Church

About this church

Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Apple Valley is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America that has served the area since the 1960s. Worship is held Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and can be attended in person or watched live on the church's YouTube channel, where sermons and children's messages are also archived. A nursery is staffed on Sunday mornings for the youngest children. The building is also shared with two partner congregations, Casa de Oración and Lily of the Valley AME. Times can shift with the season, so confirm on the website before visiting.

During the program year, Faith Formation for All brings every age together on Sunday mornings for learning and small-group conversation, with adult presentations on some Sundays. GLOW gathers children in grades one through five on Wednesdays for dinner, lessons, activities and music. Confirmation for grades six through eight meets Wednesday evenings and starts with pizza, and high schoolers meet later that evening in the youth room. A lectionary-based Bible study meets Monday mornings, and a women's Scripture group called Dwelling Place meets monthly. Service work includes a backpack food program for a nearby school, a monthly mobile food pantry hosted at the church, meal packing with Feed My Starving Children, and a partnership with a parish in Tanzania. Choirs and other music groups round out church life.
