Church of Saint Rita

About this church

The Catholic Church of Saint Rita in Cottage Grove celebrates Sunday Mass at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Confession is available Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. or by appointment, and the parish publishes Thursday Adoration from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Youth can serve at Mass as lectors, ushers, musicians, altar servers, Eucharistic ministers, or audiovisual volunteers. A youth leadership team helps shape larger faith-formation sessions and monthly activities, while the Resound music ministry welcomes singers, instrumentalists, and media operators.

Established in 1966, Saint Rita dedicated its current building in 1986 and reports a community of roughly 1,450 families. Its mission joins sacramental and prayer life with justice, peace, respect for life and family, care for the environment, and outreach to people in poverty. That commitment becomes tangible through a free community meal on the third Friday of each month and volunteer sessions with Feed My Starving Children after Mass on the second Wednesday. A Sunday-evening Rosary group and Wednesday coffee gathering add quieter forms of prayer and fellowship. Saint Rita’s size, youth participation, scheduled Adoration, and recurring meal outreach create a broad parish life beyond weekend Mass.
