St George Catholic Church

About this church

The Catholic Church of St. George in Long Lake celebrates Saturday Mass at 4:00 p.m., preceded by the Rosary at 3:30, and Sunday Mass at 9:15 a.m., preceded by the Rosary at 8:45. Reconciliation is available Saturday from 3:00 to 3:30 or by appointment. Tuesday adoration runs from noon to 5:00 p.m. and continues after the 5:30 Mass; the chapel also hosts adoration on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The parish summarizes its identity as “one community, one family, one Lord” and connects current worship to more than a century of Catholic life in Long Lake.

The first St. George Mass was celebrated on Christmas Day 1916 in the basement of its original church, with Benedictine priests from St. John’s Abbey initially serving the mission. Corn Days began in 1971 and remains a local tradition featuring a parade, music, family activities, vendors, and parish fundraising. Ministries include community meals, charitable support, liturgical roles, and adult, youth, and Latino choirs. St. George may appeal to visitors seeking a compact weekend schedule, Rosary immediately before both Masses, a clearly published confession window, and a parish whose annual festival and Lake Minnetonka-area service are central to its local identity.
