About this church

Peace United Church of Christ is a progressive, Open and Affirming Rochester congregation with roots reaching to 1905. The church joined the United Church of Christ in 1957, became Open and Affirming in 2006, and renovated its sanctuary in 2017. Inclusive worship, varied music, children, intergenerational learning, service, justice, and community shape its current life.

Sunday worship begins at 9:00 a.m. in person and by livestream, followed by coffee and snacks. Music ranges from hymns and contemporary Christian songs to pop, rock, and themed selections. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday each month and is open to everyone, using grape juice and gluten-free bread. Children may participate throughout worship at an activity table, and an unstaffed Wiggle Room is available for caregivers and young children. From September through May, intergenerational Pathways begins Sunday at 9:15; Peace Kids meets second Fridays 5:30–8:00 p.m. Public pages do not specify service duration, dress, parking, accessibility, staffed nursery care, child check-in, secure pickup, volunteer screening, or whether Pathways participants begin in the sanctuary before leaving.
