St John Lutheran Church

About this church

St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca worships Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Sunday School for children age two through fifth grade follows from 10:00 to 10:45 during the September-to-May school year, using Bible lessons, play, and shared learning. The congregation describes itself as a Christian family shaped by Scripture, worship, service, and fellowship, and invites guests to participate at their own pace. Its local ministry has continued for more than 130 years.

Several recurring activities connect worship with everyday care. Men in Mission serves a pancake breakfast on the first Sunday of each month, prepares packages for college students, and organizes Christmas caroling for people who are homebound. Youth can participate in Vacation Bible School, summer trips, and the wider Evangelical Lutheran Church in America youth gathering. Outreach and music ministries provide further ways to serve. For residents comparing Waseca churches, St. John offers a compact Sunday morning, school-year Christian education immediately after worship, a long Lutheran presence in the community, and practical intergenerational traditions that extend care beyond the sanctuary.
