About this church
Smithville Baptist Church starts Sundays with small groups at 9:30 a.m. for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. Worship follows at 10:30 through singing, Scripture reading, prayer, giving, and preaching. Activities for all ages resume Sundays at 5. On Wednesdays, the congregation shares a fellowship meal at 5:30, followed by Bible studies and age-group activities at 6:30. Children can also take part in RA and GA programs, Bible Drill, summer programs, and choir, while youth worship and study together on Wednesday evenings and may serve on mission trips. Senior adults have several Sunday School options with different learning styles and Christ-centered materials.
The church's mission is to honor God by sharing the gospel, equipping believers through Scripture, and ministering to neighbors in times of need. Its beliefs affirm biblical authority and the Southern Baptist Convention's 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, including the Trinity, salvation by grace, Christ's return, local-church autonomy, baptism of believers by immersion, and the Lord's Supper. Seasonal public events include a Good Friday service, community Easter egg hunt, Easter cantata, missions offering, and Vacation Bible School. Smithville still asks guests to confirm the service duration, Communion calendar, baptism preparation, nursery ages, children's arrival process, staff protections, customary attire, parking plan, disability aids, streaming, meal reservations, and whether Sunday-evening programs continue all year.
