Hannibal First Church of the Nazarene

About this church

Hannibal First Church of the Nazarene gathers at 4000 West Ely Road with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and an all-church worship gathering at 10:40. Wednesday prayer begins at 6 p.m., followed by Bible study at 6:30. The congregation describes itself as Christian, Holiness, and missional, with a goal of becoming multicultural and multigenerational while making Christlike disciples. Worship combines traditional hymns and contemporary songs, teaching comes from Scripture, and the church says visitors may come as they are. Childcare is available, but children are also welcome to remain in the service.

Age-specific ministry includes children's church and nursery after the congregation's shared opening worship, alongside intergenerational activities and a men's gathering on the fourth Saturday. Communion is observed on the first Sunday each month, and most fifth Sundays include a fellowship meal. The church also highlights local service by members working as chaplains, counselors, educators, writers, and other community contributors. A seasonal live Nativity before Christmas is one of its distinctive annual traditions. These details make Hannibal Nazarene a congregation where weekly study and worship sit inside a strong family and neighborhood rhythm; visitors should use the calendar to verify special gatherings.
