St Lawrence Catholic Church

About this church

St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett celebrates Mass Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in English and 12:30 p.m. in Spanish. Weekday Mass is offered Tuesday and Thursday at 8:15 a.m.; holy-day schedules are posted separately when needed. Confession is available Saturday from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. or by appointment. This bilingual Sunday schedule and the confession window before the vigil give visitors several practical ways to participate in the parish's sacramental life.

More than 400 families belong to St. Lawrence, which has served the area for over a century. The parish connects liturgy and prayer with education through its Catholic school, Parish School of Religion, and OCIA formation for adults entering the Church. Public-school students in kindergarten through sixth grade meet after the English Sunday Mass, while grades seven through twelve gather Wednesday evening. Parish life also includes the Council of Catholic Women, Knights of Columbus, Hispanic ministry, youth group, pastoral council, and liturgical roles. Its mission joins worship and evangelization with education and visible concern for people across the Monett area, giving the parish both a long local history and an active bilingual present.
