St. Andrew Catholic Church

About this church

St. Andrew Catholic Church celebrates Mass at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday at 106 West Cooper Street in Tipton. Wednesday and Friday each have an 8 a.m. Mass. Published Confession times are 6:30 p.m. Thursday, 5:15 p.m. Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. Sunday. After worship moved to the school gym for an eight-month restoration, the parish returned to the church on Easter Sunday 2025; its new altar was blessed the following May, and the final architectural work continued afterward.

The parish was founded in 1857, and the present brick church was completed in 1883 and dedicated in 1884. Its stained-glass windows, installed in 1904, were traced through parish research to the Emil Frei Company in St. Louis. St. Andrew also maintains a school serving preschool through eighth grade at 118 East Cooper Street. Parish life is organized around faith, service, fellowship, ministries, and community organizations, with religious education framed as both learning Catholic teaching and growing into active witness. The church's restoration history makes the building itself meaningful, but the official site also presents it as an operating parish rather than a historic attraction. Visitors should consult current notices for feast days or renovation-related changes beyond the ordinary schedule.
