Absecon Presbyterian Church

About this church

Absecon Presbyterian Church worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m., both in person and through an interactive Facebook livestream. Online participants can view without an account, though an account is needed to comment and react. Visitors are not asked to stand or identify themselves, and light refreshments and conversation follow worship. The congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and has worshiped in its current building since 1867.

Children may remain in the intergenerational service. The current homepage says Christian education for ages three and older begins after the children’s message during worship, while a separate visitor page describes school-year classes and nursery care somewhat differently; families should confirm the exact Sunday sequence before arriving. Volunteers work under a child-protection policy and are subject to background checks. The church began with eight charter members in 1859 after meeting in Absecon’s Odd Fellows Hall. Its campus is at 208 New Jersey Avenue. A newcomer can preview the latest bulletin and service online, then stay for fellowship to ask about education, Confirmation, or other groups.
