Central Baptist Church

About this church

Central Baptist Church in Atlantic Highlands worships Sundays at 9:30 a.m. From August 9 through September 6, 2026, the congregation is meeting outdoors at the Atlantic Highlands Harbor Gazebo at the end of First Avenue on Simon Lake Drive. The seasonal service includes a children's class and nursery, followed by free bagels and treats. Outside that period, worship returns to the church's East Highland Avenue building at the same published hour.

The American Baptist congregation has served the area for more than 125 years and describes itself as a warm, intergenerational community of imperfect people following Jesus. Services blend contemporary and traditional elements rather than separating them into different hours. Central Learns extends the church's welcome into the school week with free Wednesday tutoring, homework help, and enrichment for kindergarten through grade twelve from 3:00 to 4:30, staffed by background-checked volunteers. Summer visitors should verify the location—not just the time—before attending, especially around the September transition back indoors.
