St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church

About this church

St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church meets at 85 Voorhees Corner Road in Flemington. Its regular Sunday schedule is Orthros at 8:30 a.m. and Divine Liturgy at 9:30. Through Labor Day, the published summer schedule moves those services to 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. Special feasts and weekday services follow the parish calendar, so checking it is important near holidays or the seasonal transition.

The parish describes Orthodox worship as engaging sight, sound, movement, incense, candles, sacred hymns, icons, and the Eucharistic gifts. Its vision centers on living the gospel and apostolic teaching through worship, the sacraments, and service to others. A group of local Orthodox Christians began organizing the parish in November 2001, and the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in September 2002. After meeting in a home, banquet hall, and United Methodist church, St. Anna purchased its current land in 2009, broke ground in 2011, and held the opening Thyranixia in June 2013. Ministries include service projects and a college care-package program that keeps graduates connected to Orthodox churches and campus groups while they are away at school.
