About this church
Central Presbyterian Church in Montclair worships Sundays at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by coffee and fellowship. The PC(USA) service includes prayers, sermons, Scripture, choral anthems, hymns, congregational responses, spoken unison, and silent meditation. Sunday worship streams live on Facebook and YouTube and remains available afterward. The congregation identifies as caring and inclusive and belongs to the Covenant Network, specifically affirming LGBT people as members and leaders. Street parking is available on Claremont Avenue and Park Street; the main entrance faces Park, while a ramp on Claremont provides accessible entry.
Nursery care for young children runs from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. with a certified provider. Preschoolers may check in before worship or stay for the opening Time with Young Disciples. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade join that brief sanctuary lesson before Sunday School on most weeks; they remain in worship on first-Sunday Communion weeks. Youth in grades six through twelve attend worship and meet on the first and third Sunday evenings for Bible study, prayer, dinner, games, and mission planning, including an annual summer project. The site does not publish worship length, Communion guest guidance, youth meeting hours, nursery ages or screening process, clothing guidance, hearing assistance, or whether special services follow the same childcare and streaming arrangements.
