Ocean City Tabernacle

About this church

Ocean City Tabernacle is a seasonal Christian ministry whose principal Sunday schedule runs during the summer visitor season. Traditional worship begins at 8:30 a.m. and contemporary worship at 10:30 a.m. at 550 Wesley Avenue in Ocean City. The later service features a rotating series of guest Bible teachers and Christian speakers, with the official speaker list identifying the date and presenter for each week. These should not be represented as year-round weekly services: visitors planning outside the published summer series need to check the current calendar for any worship or special event.

Founded in 1879 by Methodist ministers, the Tabernacle has served generations of residents and vacationers as part of Ocean City's Christian seaside history. Summer programming extends beyond the two Sunday gatherings through Vacation Bible School and other family events. The Kull Youth Center provides space for recreation and ministry and can also be rented under its own policies, making it a year-round community resource even when the main speaker series is not operating. A first-time summer guest can choose 8:30 for a traditional service or 10:30 for contemporary music and the scheduled speaker. Families should review the specific week's event information before arrival, since speaker dates, children's programs, and holiday weekends vary. Outside summer, contact the Tabernacle directly rather than assuming the two published seasonal hours remain in effect.
