St James Lutheran Church

About this church

St James Lutheran Church in Pitman gathers for worship with Holy Communion every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The service is livestreamed on Facebook, where recordings of recent worship are also available. This congregation belongs to the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and uses liturgies from Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Visitors will find ample parking in the church lot and an air-conditioned sanctuary, practical details that help with arrival and comfort.

Music offers two recurring ways to participate during the program year. The adult choir rehearses Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. from September through May and sings in Sunday worship, while the handbell choir rehearses Wednesdays at 7:00 during the same months. Both invite new participants. The congregation summarizes its calling as welcoming God's people together in Christ to worship, serve, and share God's love. That identity is visible in a weekly Communion service shaped by Lutheran liturgy and in music ministries that welcome both voices and ringers. Prospective guests can preview the service online, then arrive knowing the worship time, parking arrangement, liturgical resource, and musical character of the congregation.
