First Presbyterian Church

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood worships Sundays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in its sanctuary at 722 East Ridgewood Avenue. The service follows traditional Presbyterian liturgy, with biblical preaching, prayer, the Sacraments, Chancel Choir, pipe organ, and stained-glass surroundings. A livestream normally begins shortly before worship, and recorded services remain available, giving a prospective visitor a direct way to experience the congregation’s musical and liturgical character in advance.

The church describes its mission as a welcoming community formed in Christ, sharing love through service and fellowship. Members come from varied cultures and backgrounds, and the building also hosts community groups and Arabic- and Korean-speaking worshiping communities. Children contribute through ensembles such as the Cherub and Handbell choirs, while the high-school youth group connects Scripture with current events, relationships, mission, and recreation. The congregation’s mission work is presented as putting faith “on its feet” beyond Sunday worship. For someone arriving for the first time, greeters are positioned at the doors, the service has one consistent hour, and the traditional setting is paired with an intentionally broad community welcome. The livestream and current Sunday bulletin are especially useful for checking holiday changes or previewing the order of worship.
