Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church

About this church

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church celebrates Saturday Mass at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday Masses at 8, 10, and 11:30 a.m. The 11:30 liturgy streams live and remains archived on YouTube. Family Mass is held at 10 on second and fourth Sundays; coffee, bagels, and doughnuts follow both the 10 and 11:30 gatherings on those dates. Daily Mass is offered Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. and noon, and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and noon. Saturday confession runs from 12:45 to 2 or by appointment, while Eucharistic exposition takes place Monday and Friday afternoons.

Music is treated as an integral expression of the Mass, with parishioners invited to sing from the pews, join choirs, or support the ministry behind the scenes. Family worship is presented as a place where parents and children can participate alongside other young households. Annual service ministries help organize an All Souls remembrance Mass and a healing Mass with Anointing of the Sick. The South Orange church’s nave and transept stained glass honor people who carried Christ’s message in their own times, and parish history extends beyond a century. Reviewed pages do not explain typical Mass duration, Communion practice for non-Catholic guests, nursery or children’s check-in, parking, accessibility, hearing assistance, or whether the Family Mass also streams. Holy-day times require the bulletin or parish office.
