About this church
Woodbridge United Methodist Church worships Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 69 Main Street. The congregation describes itself as a friendly community where people can belong while continuing their spiritual journey. The Woodbridge train station is about a three-minute walk away, and the property offers off-street parking and a wheelchair-accessible ramp. Children from prekindergarten are ordinarily dismissed to Sunday School during worship. Current announcements say the regular school-year program ends in June, with summer childcare for children below first grade, so parents should check which seasonal arrangement is active before visiting.
The church's site has served as a place of worship continuously since 1707, first for Quakers and for Methodists since 1832. Its present sanctuary follows earlier buildings affected by an 1876 fire, the 1951 Woodbridge train disaster, and another fire in 1954; the congregation laid the current cornerstone in 1957. Recent church life includes Youth Sunday, a food-pantry collection, prayer and anointing during worship, tool donations that help people in recovery pursue employment, and Walk to Emmaus retreat participation. A first visit can be planned without a car because rail access is unusually close. Families should distinguish school-year Sunday School from the narrower summer childcare offering, while anyone needing accessible entry can use the published ramp and parking information.
