New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church is an Albuquerque congregation whose mission is “Building Better Relationships”—with God, with other people, and with ourselves. Sunday Bible Institute begins at 9:00 a.m. through Zoom, and in-person worship starts at 11:00 at 1901 Pennsylvania Street Northeast. Worship on Wednesday meets at 7:00 p.m. The church accepts Scripture as its authority for faith and practice and is part of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, combining Baptist roots with expressive worship and an emphasis on the work of the Holy Spirit.

New Hope was organized in January 1954 in Sarah Young’s home and moved to its present Pennsylvania Street campus in 1993. Bishop David C. Cooper and Co-Pastor Dr. Nina Cooper lead a ministry network that includes discipleship, Christian education, prayer, fine arts and worship, men’s and women’s groups, pastoral care, and community groups. Youth can participate in choirs, praise dance, worship, and “I’ve Got S.K.I.L.L.S.,” a science, technology, engineering, arts, math, and health program developed with the UNM/BOSS STEAM-H initiative for grades two through eight. The site also accepts prayer, spiritual-guidance, visitation, funeral, wedding, and baby-dedication requests.
