The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Artesia

About this church

Artesia Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meets at 2519 W Hermosa Dr, the only meetinghouse the directory lists for Artesia, New Mexico. The nearest other meetinghouse is nearly forty-two miles away in Roswell, and the building has an accessible entrance, parking and restroom.

Sacrament meeting for the Artesia Ward runs Sundays from 10 a.m. for close to an hour, covering hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from members of the congregation. Classes for all ages, Primary included, take up the second hour that follows. There's no fee for visiting, and nobody passes a collection plate. A gym, a few classrooms and the chapel itself typically round out a meetinghouse this size. Plans can move from year to year at the local level, so it helps to phone ahead before a first Sunday.
