Deming, New Mexico's only meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stands at 1000 W Florida St. The next one is over forty miles off in Hanover, and the property is step-free at its entrance, parking area and restroom.

Two congregations use the building on Sundays: the Spanish-speaking Florida Ward at 9 a.m. and the Deming Ward at 11 a.m. Each meeting opens with about an hour of hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks by members of the congregation, then moves into a second hour of classes, with Primary set apart for the children. Coming as a visitor costs nothing at all. Congregations are split by neighborhood and, here, by language too, which explains how two different groups occupy the same address. Since the local schedule can be adjusted over time, it's worth telephoning ahead of a first visit.
