First Presbyterian Church

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Las Cruces worships at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in a traditional Presbyterian service with hymnals, a printed bulletin, choir, and pipe organ. The congregation reads a confession of sin, an affirmation of faith, and the Lord's Prayer together each week. Deacons wearing name tags greet near the doors and help newcomers follow the service. Fellowship in Jones Hall usually follows, extending the morning beyond worship without requiring a separate reservation.

Children may remain in the sanctuary, and childcare is available for families who prefer it. The church will also arrange a building walk-through before Sunday for children with sensory needs, an unusually thoughtful first-visit option. College students and young adults meet on a separate schedule for faith, service, and friendship, reflecting the congregation's proximity to New Mexico State University. Music, mission, and community outreach provide other paths to participate. The church's goal of leading, nurturing, and serving the community for Christ is visible in that combination of ordered worship and practical hospitality. Visitors should look for the Boutz Road property between Las Cruces High School and the nearby auto dealership.
