Bellmore Presbyterian Church

About this church

Bellmore Presbyterian Church worships at 9:50 a.m. Sunday in person and online. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month, and the facility is accessible to people with disabilities. Children begin in the sanctuary, hear a children's message, and then leave for Church School; childcare is also available. Classes serve preschool through eighth grade, while ninth graders may enter the Seekers confirmation class. That integrated sequence lets a family arrive together without locating a separate classroom before worship begins.

Bellmore's story began with a Sunday school movement in 1875, and Nassau Presbytery established the church with twelve members in 1877. The present sanctuary opened in 1957 and was dedicated after completion in 1961. A partnership with San Nicolas de Bari in Cuba began in 1994 and continues alongside local food support, Vacation Bible School, and assistance for under-resourced children. The congregation describes its mission through worship, welcome, love, hope, and faithfulness. First-time households can choose the livestream as a preview, but attending at 9:50 provides the clearest view of how congregational worship transitions into children's education and monthly Communion.
